What concierge care includes

One physician, one plan, and the continuity to see it through. Dr. Monarrez takes the time to understand your concerns and cares for the areas of health that most often get a rushed visit somewhere else.

  • Women's health. Perimenopause and menopause care, and the everyday concerns that come with them: sleep, mood, energy, skin, and weight.
  • Sexual health. Low desire, arousal and orgasm concerns, dryness and pain with intimacy, and erectile or performance concerns for men. Hormonal, prescription, and regenerative options, including the O-Shot.
  • Hormone therapy. Bioidentical estradiol and progesterone, testosterone for women in select cases and for men, and thyroid evaluation, with labs and follow-up.
  • Medical weight loss. Physician-led programs with GLP-1 medications when appropriate, body composition tracking, nutrition, and follow-up from a board-certified obesity medicine physician.
  • Aesthetics. Neuromodulators, lip filler, microneedling, chemical peels, and laser hair removal, performed conservatively by Dr. Monarrez and Cristina Gates, PA-C.
  • Generalist care. Second opinions, lab review, prescriptions, and referrals, in coordination with your primary care physician and specialists, from a doctor who knows your whole picture.

For concierge patients

  • Priority booking for Dr. Monarrez's time
  • In-house management of non-emergent complications, so a question about a treatment doesn't mean a trip to urgent care
  • Often same-day or next-day care for urgent concerns such as adverse effects, respiratory infections, and urinary infections
  • IV therapy for migraine, nausea, and dehydration, and wellness injections, by appointment

Trained for the whole picture

Dr. Monarrez trained at Stanford and UCSF and is board-certified in Emergency Medicine and Obesity Medicine, with advanced training in hormone therapy and menopause care, sexual health, and aesthetic medicine. That range is the point: a patient's skin, weight, hormones, and health are considered together, by one physician, rather than in separate offices, and every concern gets the time it deserves.

  • Board-certified, American Board of Emergency Medicine
  • Board-certified, American Board of Obesity Medicine
  • Advanced training in hormone therapy, menopause care, and sexual health
  • Focused training in aesthetic injectables, laser, and regenerative treatments

How it works

  1. A first visit to get to know you

In person or by video: your concerns, your medical history, and your goals, with the time to hear all of it.

  2. Labs as needed, then a plan of care

Your options explained plainly, whether that's hormones, medication, nutrition, or treatment, with costs shared before you commit.

  3. Ongoing care

Follow-ups, adjustments, refills, questions, and second opinions from the same physician, as your plan unfolds.

Telehealth across California

Video visits work well for follow-ups, medication questions, rashes, minor infections, weight and hormone care, and deciding whether something needs to be seen in person. You receive a secure link by text or email, and the visit happens on your phone or computer. Anyone physically in California at the time of the visit can be seen.

  • Available to new and existing patients anywhere in California
  • Prescriptions sent to your pharmacy; labs ordered at a Quest location near you
  • Evening appointments on select days

Straightforward pricing

Mona Medical is a cash-pay practice. Visit pricing is quoted before you're seen, and there are no surprise bills afterward. Basic labs are included in concierge care; specialty labs are not. Labs and medications can be billed to your insurance where possible, though coverage is not guaranteed, and we provide superbills for reimbursement. HSA and FSA funds may be used for eligible medical services; cosmetic treatments and access fees are not eligible, so check with your plan. Ask us about membership options if you'd like ongoing access with predictable costs.

Concierge questions, answered plainly

What patients ask before they book.

Can I come just for a second opinion?

Yes. Bring your records, your labs, or a specialist's plan, and we'll go through it together and tell you plainly what we think, including when the right answer is to follow the specialist's advice.

Do I have to be a member?

No. You can be seen visit by visit. Membership is an option for patients who want ongoing priority access with predictable costs; ask us and we'll explain what's included.

Does this replace my primary care doctor?

No. Concierge care at Mona Medical is meant to work alongside your primary care physician, not replace them. Keep your PCP for preventive care and routine needs; we focus on women's health, hormones, weight, and sexual health, and we coordinate with your PCP and specialists.

Can you prescribe medications and order tests?

Yes. Prescriptions go to the pharmacy you choose, labs are ordered at Quest, and imaging is ordered at local facilities. Controlled substances are prescribed only when appropriate and within California law.

Do you take insurance?

Visits are not billed to insurance, which is what keeps them unhurried. Your pharmacy, lab, and imaging center may bill your insurance for their services, and HSA and FSA funds may be used for eligible medical services; cosmetic treatments and access fees are not eligible, so check with your plan.
