Concierge care for women's health, hormones, and weight
Personalized, physician-led care from Dr. Lorena Monarrez in Salinas and Carmel: women's health, sexual health, hormone therapy, medical weight loss, and select aesthetic treatments, with telehealth across California.
What concierge care includes
One physician, one plan, and the continuity to see it through. Dr. Monarrez takes the time to understand your concerns and cares for the areas of health that most often get a rushed visit somewhere else.
- Women's health. Perimenopause and menopause care, and the everyday concerns that come with them: sleep, mood, energy, skin, and weight.
- Sexual health. Low desire, arousal and orgasm concerns, dryness and pain with intimacy, and erectile or performance concerns for men. Hormonal, prescription, and regenerative options, including the O-Shot.
- Hormone health. Hot flashes, night sweats, sleep, mood, brain fog, low energy, low desire, and thyroid concerns, for women as well as men, with labs and follow-up.
- Medical weight loss. Physician-led programs with GLP-1 medications when appropriate, body composition tracking, nutrition, and follow-up from a board-certified obesity medicine physician.
- Aesthetics. Neuromodulators, lip filler, microneedling, chemical peels, and laser hair removal, performed conservatively by Dr. Monarrez and Cristina Gates, PA-C.
- Timely care when it matters. Same-day or next-available visits for life's health urgencies and reactions to treatment, with prescriptions, lab review, and referrals coordinated with your primary care physician and specialists.
For concierge patients
We keep the concierge panel deliberately small. Fewer patients means availability stays optimized: time when you need it rather than the next opening on a crowded calendar.
- A small patient panel, so appointments are available when you need them
- Priority booking for Dr. Monarrez's time, with after-hours availability for concierge patients
- In-house care for reactions to treatment and non-emergent complications, so a question about a treatment doesn't mean a trip to urgent care
- Timely visits, in person or by video, for urgent concerns such as respiratory and urinary infections
- IV therapy for migraine, nausea, and dehydration, and wellness injections, by appointment
IV therapy and urgent-care interventions may incur an additional fee; pricing is provided in advance.
How it works
- A first visit to get to know you
In person or by video: your concerns, your medical history, and your goals, with the time to hear all of it.
- Labs as needed, then a plan of care
Your options explained plainly, whether that's hormones, medication, nutrition, or treatment, with costs shared before you commit.
- Ongoing care
Follow-ups, adjustments, refills, and questions, from the same physician, as your plan unfolds.
Telehealth across California
Video visits work well for follow-ups, medication questions, rashes, minor infections, weight and hormone care, and deciding whether something needs to be seen in person. You receive a secure link by text or email, and the visit happens on your phone or computer. Anyone physically in California at the time of the visit can be seen.
Straightforward pricing
Mona Medical is a cash-pay practice. Visit pricing is quoted before you're seen, and there are no surprise bills afterward. Basic labs are included in concierge care; specialty labs are not. Labs and medications can be billed to your insurance where possible, though coverage is not guaranteed, and we provide superbills for reimbursement. Qualifying medical appointments, diagnostic testing, and treatment may be paid for or reimbursed with FSA or HSA funds. Ask about an itemized receipt, and confirm any documentation requirements with your plan administrator. Cosmetic treatments and access fees generally do not qualify. IV therapy and urgent-care interventions may incur an additional fee, quoted in advance. Ask us about membership options if you'd like ongoing access with predictable costs.
Concierge questions, answered plainly
What patients ask before they book.
What if I get sick or have a reaction to a treatment?
Concierge patients can usually be seen the same day or the next, in person or by video, for urgent concerns such as a reaction to treatment, a respiratory infection, or a urinary infection. Urgent-care interventions and IV therapy may incur an additional fee, quoted in advance. For an emergency, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department.
Do I have to be a member?
No. You can be seen visit by visit. Membership is an option for patients who want ongoing priority access, a place on a deliberately small panel, after-hours availability, and predictable costs; ask us and we'll explain what's included.
Does this replace my primary care doctor?
No. Concierge care at Mona Medical is meant to work alongside your primary care physician, not replace them. Keep your PCP for preventive care and routine needs; we focus on women's health, hormones, weight, and sexual health, and we coordinate with your PCP and specialists.
Can you prescribe medications and order tests?
Yes. Prescriptions go to the pharmacy you choose, labs are ordered at Quest, and imaging is ordered at local facilities. Controlled substances are prescribed only when appropriate and within California law.
Do you take insurance?
Visits are not billed to insurance, which is what keeps them unhurried. Your pharmacy, lab, and imaging center may bill your insurance for their services. Qualifying medical appointments, diagnostic testing, and treatment may be paid for or reimbursed with FSA or HSA funds. Ask about an itemized receipt, and confirm any documentation requirements with your plan administrator. Cosmetic treatments and access fees generally do not qualify.
